United Way "Donor Choice"

Opinions vary on United Way, but one thing is undeniable—United Way involves a lot of people, raising a lot of money for non-profit organizations and some good causes.

WELS Lutherans for Life is eligible to receive donations through the United Way “Donor Choice” program. Employees and Employers can designate WELS Lutherans for Life, Metro-Milwaukee as their recipient.

The United Way (UW) form and Options Card below are examples for demonstration purposes only*. The forms and/or card you receive from your employer to participate in a United Way campaign may be different.

WELS Lutherans for Life is only eligible through the Donor Choice, option 4 D (as highlighted below).

To direct your United Way payroll deduction the full name of the organization must be included along with the address. In the blank for designating your contribution, write:

• "WELS Lutherans for Life, Metro-Milwaukee, 8501 W. Lincoln Avenue, West Allis, WI 53227"
• Our Federal Tax ID number or Employee Identification Number is 39-1436085.

United Way Materials & Resources ​to share with your members

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves," Proverbs 31:8 tells us. 

The "United Way" is a community partnership of business, education, government, faith-based, and nonprofit organizations to work toward common goals, resulting in a better quality of life for all.United Way believes in making the community stronger. By working together on critical issues they impact the community through these partnerships to ensure everyone has a safe place to live, work, and play.

United Way helps people – it’s that simple! WELS Lutherans for Life helps people, too! 

The United Way serves your community by organizing an annual community Impact Fund campaign in the workplace for thousands of companies nationwide. Since WELS Lutherans for Life, Metro-Milwaukee is not directly involved in this campaign (WLFL does not have a designated U/W number), we are not predetermined to receive funding from the United Way. However, WELS Lutherans for Life, Metro-Milwaukee can receive funding through the United Way "Donor Choice" designation.
 
The "Donor Choice" designation allows an employee to contribute to any qualified charitable agency with a 501(c)(3) non-profit classification, such as WELS Lutherans for Life, Metro-Milwaukee.

To participate, simply ask your employer for a United Way form and designate WELS Lutherans for Life, Metro-Milwaukee (EIN #39-1436085) in the "Donor Choice" section as your charitable agency of choice.
