What We Do

Overview

WELS Lutherans for Life is committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental place for individuals to sort through the hard decisions surrounding unplanned pregnancies and lifestyle issues. We understand the way we can most respect each client is to equip them to make their own informed decision and to assure them they’re not walking this hard path alone. We also raise awareness about and educate on life issues.

Our success is measured in the number of people we can help with the quality programs, services we provide, and the love we show in Jesus.

These programs are fueled by our dedicated staff, caring volunteers, and generous donors like you. Check out our client success stories to see your dollars in action.

Statement of Principle

WELS Lutherans for Life is an outreach ministry. We are committed to presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and action to women and their families dealing with crisis pregnancies. Those who serve as pregnancy center board members, staff, and volunteers believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

WELS Lutherans for Life:

  • Is committed to providing clients with accurate and complete information about both prenatal development and abortion.
  •  Is committed to integrity in dealing with clients, earning their trust, and providing promised information and services. We do not use any form of deception in corporate advertising or individual conversations with clients.
  •  Is committed to assisting women in carrying their babies to term by providing emotional support and practical assistance. Through the provision of individuals and the community at large, women may face the future with hope and plan constructively for themselves and their babies.
  •  Does not discriminate in providing services based on race, creed, sex, disability, color, national origin, age, or marital status of its clients.
  •  Does not recommend, provide, or refer for abortion or abortifacients.
  •  Offers assistance free of charge at all times.
  •  Is committed to creating awareness within the local community of the needs of pregnant women and of the fact that abortion only compounds human need rather than resolving it.
  •  Does not recommend, provide, or refer single women for contraceptives. (Married women seeking contraceptive information should be urged to seek counsel, along with their husbands, from their pastor or physician.)
  •  Recognizes the validity of adoption as one alternative to abortion, but is not biased toward adoption when compared to other life-saving alternatives. Our pregnancy centers are independent of adoption agencies, relating to them in the same manner as to other helpful referral sources. We receive no payment of any kind from these agencies, do not enter into contractual relationships with them, and do not share combined office space. Adoption agencies are not established under the auspices of our pregnancy centers. Our pregnancy centers neither initiate nor facilitate independent adoptions, though they may refer for independent adoptions in states where it is legal.
