Our Commitment
We are committed to serving our community, our clients, and our partners with integrity at the highest possible level.
What We Do
WELS Lutherans for Life is committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental place for individuals to sort through the hard decisions surrounding unplanned pregnancies and lifestyle issues.
We understand the way we can most respect each client is to equip them to make their own informed decision and to assure them they’re not walking this hard path alone.
Statement of Purpose
We work to meet the needs of women in our community facing unintended pregnancies. We believe every life has a purpose and every life deserves a chance. Through education, prevention, emotional support, spiritual engagement, and material assistance we help the women and men we serve to be informed, understand their options, and make the right choice.
We continually evaluate and improve the services and professionalism of WELS Lutherans for Life. We will increase our range of services to accommodate and facilitate women and men facing crisis pregnancies. We work to erase the need for abortion in Greater Milwaukee.
Statement of Principle
WELS Lutherans for Life is an outreach ministry. We are committed to presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and action to women, men, and their families dealing with crisis pregnancies. Those who serve as pregnancy center board members, staff, and volunteers believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.
WELS Lutherans for Life:
- Is committed to providing clients with accurate and complete information about both prenatal development and abortion.
- Is committed to integrity in dealing with clients, earning their trust, and providing promised information and services. We do not use any form of deception in corporate advertising or individual conversations with clients.
- Is committed to assisting women in carrying their babies to term by providing emotional support and practical assistance. Through the provision of individuals and the community at large, women and men may face the future with hope and plan constructively for themselves and their families.
- Does not discriminate in providing services based on race, creed, sex, disability, color, national origin, age, or marital status of its clients.
- Does not recommend, provide, or refer for abortion or abortifacients.
- Offers assistance free of charge at all times.
- Is committed to creating awareness within the local community of the needs of pregnant women and of the fact that abortion only compounds human need rather than resolving it.
- Does not recommend, provide, or refer single women for contraceptives. (Married women seeking contraceptive information should be urged to seek counsel, along with their husbands, from their pastor or physician.)
- Recognizes the validity of adoption as one alternative to abortion but is not biased toward adoption when compared to other life-saving alternatives. Our pregnancy center is independent of adoption agencies, relating to them in the same manner as to other helpful referral sources. We receive no payment of any kind from these agencies, do not enter into contractual relationships with them, and do not share combined office space. Adoption agencies are not established under the auspices of our pregnancy center. Our pregnancy center neither initiates nor facilitates independent adoptions, though they may refer for independent adoptions in states where it is legal.
