We are a community organization operated and staffed by residents who have a vested interest in what is best for our community and tirelessly work toward that end, to the best of our ability.

WHAT: WELS Lutherans for Life is a Christian ministry providing alternatives to abortion by supporting women facing the challenges of unplanned pregnancy, promoting sexual integrity with clients and in the community, and providing after-abortion support.

WHY: Ministries like WELS Lutherans for Life have been instrumental in reducing the number of abortions across the nation through loving and supportive care of women in the midst of unplanned pregnancies. Ministries have a unique opportunity to present truthful information about pregnancy and abortion, and also to help women learn about Jesus’ love for them.

We believe that having a relationship with Jesus Christ, while not being an immediate cure-all, is the catalyst for change in thinking and behavior. Clients who desire to lead God-pleasing lives make the best progress with healthier lifestyle choices.

We are a life-affirming ministry

Our number one goal is to share the gospel message with all who seek our services. Abortion is more than a political and social issue. Abortion, at its heart, is a spiritual issue. By sharing Jesus Christ and God’s will for their lives, WELS Lutherans for Life helps our clients come to grips with the core problems that affect their ongoing lifestyles and lead to problem pregnancies.

We provide a safe place for those in crisis pregnancies so we purposely avoid the public abortion debate. Controversy is a stumbling block to our mission. We pray all women considering abortion as an option will seek compassionate and truthful help from WELS Lutherans for Life, so lives may be saved physically and spiritually. We understand that she needs us to be pro-her before she cares that we are pro-life.

Philosophy of Services

WELS Lutherans for Life exists to promote a Culture of Life.

Our spirit of service is motivated by the Christian doctrine that every person is created in the image and likeness of God, endowed with the dual capacity to recognize the truth and respond to it by making loving, life-giving choices. In this light, we affirm that the dignity of each person can be realized only when seen in its full reality: a union of body and soul.

As such, all services resonate with the awareness that the material, emotional, and spiritual needs of the individual or family must all be acknowledged and addressed. This approach to service seeks to foster health in both body and soul.

WELS Lutherans for Life affirms the full dignity of each person through programs that promote a correct understanding and healthy expression of human sexuality, namely abstinence before marriage and a committed, monogamous relationship between a man and a woman within marriage that is always open to life.

WELS Lutherans for Life is dedicated to the truth that all human life is sacred and begins at the moment of conception, and that every life must be respected, protected, and nourished until natural death. The violence of abortion is an affliction that extends beyond the immediate circle of mother, father, and family to impact all of society.

WELS Lutherans for Life is dedicated to fostering healing and reconciliation for all who suffer from the trauma of abortion.
